Coach Toby Matthies returns in his second year with Vacaville United Soccer Club after nearly seven years away. Coach Matthies served as a Head Coach within VYSL from 2008-2010 until moving to the competitive side of the game from 2011-2015. After seeing the exciting new changes within the club he was drawn back. In his first year he took his team from 1-8-0, 12 goals for, and 36 against to achieving a 3 rd place finish with 25 goals for and 15 against and a deep State Cup run.

Coach Matthies graduated with his Bachelor’s of Science from Kansas State University. He is SafeSport certified, CDC Heads Up Concussion certified, and First Aid CPR AED certified. He owns his United States Soccer Federation D License and Grassroots Licenses in the 11v11 & 9v9 formats.
